Dr. Jem Martin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Specialty and Advanced Care, and an Attending Optometrist at New England College of Optometry Center for Eye Care at Perkins School for the Blind and Commonwealth Ave Specialty Care Department. Dr. Martin’s expertise is working with individuals with disabilities, as well as vision rehabilitation, including low vision, vision therapy, and neuro-rehabilitation.

Dr. Martin graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2016. They graduated from New England College of Optometry in 2021, and was awarded the Optelec Excellence in Low Vision Award. Dr. Martin completed their residency in vision rehabilitation with an emphasis in low vision at NECO in 2022, and was awarded the Alfred A. Rosenbloom, Jr. Low Vision Residency Award.Their research includes diagnosis and intervention of cerebral visual impairment (CVI) and other neurologic conditions.
